Bamboo Mattress Protector FAQ

Sizing & Fit

Will it fit deep mattresses?

Yes, the Olive + Crate mattress protector comes with an 8–21 inch (depending on bed size) deep, 360-degree elasticized pocket to fit deep and extra-deep mattresses.

Does it stay in place, or will it slip off the corners?

The fully elasticized, deep-pocket design keeps the protector securely in place on the mattress corners, even with regular movement.

Do I put this under or over my mattress topper?

For the best waterproof protection, we recommend placing it directly over your mattress topper, underneath your fitted sheet.

Care Instructions

Can I put this in the washer and dryer?

Yes — wash in mild detergent in cold or warm water, without bleach or fabric softener, then tumble dry on a gentle setting or line dry.

What temperature should I wash it on?

We recommend washing on a cold or warm cycle to protect the waterproof membrane and extend the life of the protector.

Can I use bleach or fabric softener on it?

No — please avoid bleach and fabric softener, as both can break down the waterproof membrane over time.

Certifications

Is it actually 100% waterproof?

Yes — unlike lower-quality alternatives, Olive + Crate mattress protectors are engineered with a high-quality waterproof membrane sewn between two layers of bamboo fabric.

Is it chemical-free / OEKO-TEX certified?

Yes, our bamboo mattress protector is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning it's been independently tested for harmful substances.

Product Details

Will this make me sleep hot?

No — Olive + Crate mattress protectors use a high-quality blended bamboo jacquard fabric that stays soft and breathable, so it won't trap heat.

Is it crinkly or noisy when I move?

No — our mattress protectors use a high-quality waterproof layer sewn between two layers of bamboo fabric, so they stay quiet and don't crunch or crackle like cheaper protectors.

Can you see the protector through thin white sheets?

The protector is designed to be discreet under your sheets and shouldn't be noticeably visible through most sheet fabrics, including lighter colors.

Does it have a strong chemical smell out of the box?

You may notice a very mild odor when first unpacking it, which is normal for new textiles and typically fades quickly after airing out or a first wash.
